Card and a Box

I posted this card in my last post.  Because the flower is so big and won't fit into a standard enveloped, I searched for a solution on how to best present this card.  After some online and You Tube research, I found directions to make an "A2" card box.  It's made from one sheet of paper.  I made one and fell in love with it.  This will actually hold 4 cards and envelopes and I made a box this size to hold a set of thank-you note cards I made for my son's teacher.  Here is the card with the box.

I had so much fun, I used some of the Sycamore Street Deisgner series paper (from Sell-A-Bration) and made another card and coordinating box.

This card and the first card both use papers from the Poetry Prints designer series stack, which was a gift to all of us who attended Regional Conference.

I haven't stamped a sentiment yet, however I'm thinking they will be birthday cards.  I really enjoyed making these!

Summer Time!!

Wow, what a long break I've had from blogging!! I have, however, been busy making many, many MANY cards.  I thought I would share a few....

I saw this card on the Stampin Up! Blog page.  I just had to try the paper piercing. I bought the paper piercing pack months ago and haven't really used it.  Making the circles was pretty tedious, but I just LOVE the look of the card.  The colors are summerstar fruit, whisper white and island indigo. I didn't have the fabulous florets stamp set, so I used the flower from Summer Silohouettes  and All Natural.  I also used some white bakers twine.

I made this card with the Mixed Bunch stamp set and punch.

I am completely in love with this stamp set! I used Basic Grey, Whisper White and Melon Mambo card stock, Grey and Melon Mambo ink.  I stamped the flowers in gray on an angle, but kind of randomly too. I stamped flowers in Melon Mambo and punched them out.  I also punched a couple flowers in Melon Mambo card stock and layered them under the flowers so they will sit up a bit.

Thanks to a Mary Fish, One Minute to Wow video, I learned how to make this flower.  Using Cherry Cobbler card stock, I punched out 5 flowers with the circle scallop punch.  I used the 1 3/8th punch.  Punched a hole in the center of each circle and then I laid the flowers on a paper towel and sprayed them with water.  I stacked the circles and then crumpled them. Spraying them makes them easier to move.  To attach, I used a brad.

I put the flower on whisper white card stock.  I used my punch for the black border and paper from the Print Poetry Stack.  It was a pretty simple card to make.  Now, I'm working on a box for the card.

This was a very easy card to make.  Again, I used the Mixed Bunch stamp set. I embossed the image on black card stock, using white embossing powder. I punched it out and adhered to white cardstock and then to a black card. I added a piece of black ribbon.  Any sentiment can go on this card.

I'll be back soon with some of the other cards I've made. Thanks for looking, now go get your craft on!
