I used the chart on the punch board to determine what size to cut the paper and where to score the paper. I made a mistake thinking that you scored each side based on the first score measurement. You cut your paper down to the correct size, punch and score. You turn your paper 90 degrees and use the SCORE LINE to score the remaining 3 sides, NOT the measurement. So after using countless pieces of (thankfully) retired Designer Series Paper, I picked up the instructions and there it was. In black and white. Duh!
Now that I know how the use it and I'm on envelope overload. I've made envelopes in almost 10 sizes. No cards to go with them, just envelopes because I can!! The Envelope Punch board is frickin awesome!!
So, what did I make for an actual card? Besides the envelopes for the 3x3 cards, I had to make a sympathy card for my dear friend who just lost her mother. Here is my card:
I decided to use warm fall colors. The idea of this card came from Brian King (www.stampwithBrian.com). I LOVE his ideas and creativity!! He used DSP in Venetian Romance for his card. I don't have that paper so I made my own. Using the retired French Script stamp set, I used Soft Suede ink on Very Vanilla cardstock. I actually stamped off the stamp first and then stamped it on the paper. Using the flower from the Summer Silhouette stamp set, I used Tangerine Tango ink, stamping off before I stamped the flower randomly on the paper. I layered the vanilla onto Tangerine Tango and Soft Suede card stock. I made the envelope and liner. The liner is from last years Howlstooth and Scarringing bone DSP.
I just received my order, that included the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set and Regarding Dahlias. I plan to make a few cards with those and will share them with you.
My next challenge, in an effort to get some customers, is to make some scrapbook pages for a vendor fair I'll be participating in at my sons' school in November. I hear there are a bunch of scrapbookers there and they haven't had a Stampin Up! demonstrator at any of the past fairs. So hopefully, I can generate some business!!
