Happy Valentine's Day

Wow, can't believe it has been so long since I last posted.  I can't say that I was busy doing any stamping, unfortunately.  However, the new year promises to keep me busy.  I did make some Christmas tags, which I will post later.  I also just made some Valentine's treat bags for my sons 5th grade class. I am realizing that this is probably the last time that I'll be able to do something like this; do 6th graders give out Valentine's treats?

Anyway, I was inspiried by Mary Fish, Stampin Up demonstrator who has the best ideas, web-site and craft space ever (www.stampinpretty.com). I only aspire to be like her in terms of her creativity.  I don't think there is any way that I could EVER be as successful a demonstrator as she is.

I started with a stamp I had from years ago.  I think it was part of a set, however, I couldn't tell you what the name of the set was.  There were 4 in the group, one for Valentine's day, one for Halloween and 2 others.  Why I can't find the Halloween one is a mystery, because that is my favorite crafting holiday.

I stamped 30 or so of this image in Real Red. I adding some Dazzling Diamonds to the hearts in Cherry Cobbler.  I let it dry overnight and  I then cut these out, because I don't have a tag punch this size.  I used Real Red and Cherry Cobbler Paper and punched out the tags with the extra large tag punch.

Next came the fun part.  Using Stampin Up! 1x8 cello bags, I put M&Ms in each bag. I bought about 6 bags, which was WAY to much!!!  I made 32 and I have 2 1/2 bags left over.  I guess you never have too many M&Ms, but when you are eating as many as you stuff, this is way too much.

I punched a hole at the top of the tag and used either Cherry Cobbler or Real Red ribbon.  I cut a 4" piece to insert through the hole and wrapped linen thread around it (the white bakers twine didn't come in time, but I think the linen looks pretty good).

Last step, I punched a hole in each bag and threaded the linen thread through the hole.

And here you have Valentine's M&M treats!!!

  1. Trish, these are adorable! I didn't do any Valentine stamping this year. It came way too quickly!
